On my second day in Banff, I hiked up the smallest mountain with a German girl I met in my hostel. The only thing that sucked about it was that I developed blisters that didn't away for the rest of my trip. Why would anyone ever go to the Rockies without hiking shoes?
The colours and textures of being on a trail and seeing the views are what makes all the effort worth it, especially when you see rugged mountains, clear turquoise water, and healthy green trees all around.
I think I'll always think of Baiardo when I am in the mountains, because that is where I learned to love them so much just one year ago.
